Raj Shah is an independent financial planner and owner of Blue Wealth Capital, He has been Shortlisted for Financial Planner of the Year, listed as one of 42 under the age of 42 “Brightest and Best” businesses in Yorkshire, a finalist for Excellence in Professional Services and a finalist for Investment Adviser of the Year.
Originally from an Indian Kenyan family in Hull he studied and subsequently settled in Sheffield. Raj founded Blue Wealth Capital in 2009. He predominantly works with HNW business owners and retirees. He excels at helping his clients to identify, achieve and maintain their desired lifestyle (for life) without fear of running out of money. With a keen passion for being a force for good.
Over the years he has been on Channel 4 news discussing the budget, is the ‘money expert’ on BBC Radio, has written for and been featured in various media including the Financial Times, Money Observer, The Sunday Times and The Independent. He was commissioned by one of the world’s largest money managers (Vanguard) to write for them on the impact of human behavioural biases when making financial decisions and earlier this year was invited by Schroders to contribute and be a panelist for a discussion on passing on wealth to the next generation.
Giving back is core to the philosophy of Raj and Blue Wealth Capital and his passion for improving financial literacy for young learners has been recognised by invitations to Buckingham Palace and the House of Lords.
Raj is married with two young boys and enjoys travelling, eating and drinking countered by high intensity interval training!
